Rueben's - Dublin

Even though the portions are big and generous you can feel the food isn't fresh or homemade, you have a chef's special every week otherwise the menu stays the same, they also have a pizza menu, generous but not fresh

Went to Dublin for a weekend and stayed in the Aspect Hotel which this restaurant is part of. I cannot begin to explain how awful the food was from presentation onwards I ordered the home made lasagne my partner the burger. The lasagne was around 3x2 inches which they claimed was a standard portion. The rest of the plate consisted of a mountain of fat covered chips and a wilted salad absolutely covered in Mayonnaise that I didn 't request nor want The burger was no better. A bacon and cheese topping was requested what was served I wouldn 't have fed to the dog in terms of presentation. The burger was covered in greasy bacon, melted plastic looking cheese and then piled high with whites onions I have always seen red onion with a burger and mushrooms so was sent back. It came back out minus the mushrooms Now the food was bad enough but the attitude of the manager when we complained was unbelievable. He accused us of eating the entire meal then complaining he was rude and extremely aggressive . He then left us sitting without a resolution and refused to make eye contact. We eventually went to his manager to sort it out and we were told not to pay anything. He also told us that he had already told the manager to tell us that and yet he left us sitting there. I should point out that all the other staff in the restaurant as well as the hotel were polite courteous and friendly.

Service was excellent and my chicken curry was top notch. Portions were generous and I was offered 'half 'n half ' rice plus fries.

We decided to eat here as we were staying at the hotel. I wished we hadn't. There were four of us and all had something different. I had steak. It was worse than steak I've had from my mother! It tasted like rubber. I asked for it to be well done but when cutting found it was still pink! The lasagne tasted like it was a microwave meal! The chips and the service however where actually very good. Very friendly and helpful. The bar staff where also very nice. Wouldn't recommend eating here again, especially at the cost. Had a steak the following day at Dublin airport for the same price €24 and it was amazing and cooked properly.

I stayed in Aspect hotel for almost a week and tried both fast-food (selection of pizzas) and several items from menu. The food was excellent all the time, including draught beer and the service was very good. Sometimes larger groups of guests come down for dinner together, so the time-to-eat can jump a bit, but it was worth waiting.
