Ordered two coffees, orange juice, and two portions of pancakes, it came to roughly €26 which was very reasonable for the size of the pancakes portions! Will return again!
After waiting 20 minutes for a burger and pot of tea that I had ordered, I asked the waitress Louise could I please have my tea. I understand that food takes longer. 5 minutes later the tea arrived and I asked Louise did she know how much longer my food would be as i was near 30 minutes waiting at this stage. She went to the door, picked up the sign in sheet and said no you are 20 minutes waiting. she had signed me in at 1.40pm. this was now nearly 2.10pm. I told her i had to get back to work to which her response was 'yeah well cant you see we are busy here and the last thing we need is customers like you giving us a hard time '. my burger arrived a few minutes later and was nice. Went to pay and of course Louise was at the till. As I was leaving i got the most sarcastic ' you have a lovely Christmas now '. Appalling attitude. wont be back.
Handy place to meet. Plenty parking. Good choice lunch menu. Tasty roast veg n pesto panini with chips hit the mark. Tables are close together but there is a lot of chatter so unless what you are discussing is top secret, it’s a good place to meet up. Friendly staff.
Been here a few times and after the last two visits I won’t be returning! Ordered a small breakfast, a large breakfast and sausages and bread. In first walking in you could smell the burnt milk from the coffee’s the waitress was making. When the food arrived the small breakfast with fried eggs were fine.. the sausages with bread was fine. The large breakfast however I had asked for the poached eggs to be well done, completely solid all the way through as the soft yellow does not agree with me and I would be severely sick after. Breakfast arrived the two poached eggs were completely runny. I returned the breakfast to the counter the woman behind the counter quite obruptly told me I couldn’t have hard poached eggs that it was impossible as they are precooked. On previous occasions there was never a problem getting hard poached eggs, I told her that and she stormed off into the kitchen with the breakfast. She came back to the table with my breakfast transferred to a different plate and told me she would make two fresh poached eggs. Low and behold a few minutes passed and the eggs were brought out and my breakfast was finished and yet the two poached eggs were soft again. Returned eggs and a different staff member I was dealing with. She looked at me as if I had 10 heads. She made a smug comment quite loudly returning to the kitchen again as I told her I didn’t want them saying ‘she said they are still soft’ with quite an attitude. The yellow was running into the bowl they were given to me in. I don’t know what type of establishment can’t follow simple directions of cooking an egg. Maybe they should look into who they have cooking their food and dealing with their customers! It was not busy when we arrived staff were pottering about with dirty tables to be cleaned! Working in the food and beverage industry for 10 years now and this cafe have an awful lot to answer for with their robbery in prices to have a problem over an egg!
Went to the River Café on Sunday the 25th of August (approx. 2.15 p.m. . Was at the counter and was going to ask for a coffee. Member of staff walked straight past me and went over to a woman at a table and sat down to speak to her (possibly a friend? . Another member of staff at the counter also completely ignored me. So, left my bun on the tray at the counter and walked out. Went to the café on Main Street in Raheny instead far superior service (and even smiled......... . Have noticed this before about the staff here, ignore you or are just rude (any effort of service seems to be too much for them . No wonder there was hardly anyone there.
