The restaurant and bar were an immaculate amalgamation of traditional Irish pub, rustic seafood cuisine and a modern standard exceeded at every opportunity. James is a charming and welcoming host and we will be back again in a hurry.

My experience at this restaurant was a bit mixed. The food was very nice, with fresh fish, delicious vegetables, and potatoes. However, the bread was old, cold, not homemade, and hard. The service left much to be desired- the head waiter was unfriendly and wouldn't allow the younger staff to take food orders. He seemed rushed and frustrated when asked about the dishes. The younger wait staff were friendly but appeared intimidated by him. There were too many waiters hovering around, constantly watching you eat and clearing dishes the moment they were finished. There was no sense of privacy, as other customers could easily hear conversations. The decor and menu felt outdated and in need of modernization. Additionally, serving wine with a screw cap is not ideal in a restaurant. In conclusion, the food was fresh and well-cooked, but the service and ambiance were lacking.

We were promptly welcomed and seated at our table. Every dish we tried was flavorful, expertly cooked, and beautifully presented. Our waiter even showcased a selection of fresh fish available and described how each would be prepared. While this restaurant may not be the most budget-friendly option, they do offer reasonably priced set menus that are definitely worth the cost given the quality of the food. Overall, a fantastic dining experience from start to finish.

Note to self: always ask about prices before ordering to avoid any unpleasant surprises, especially at restaurants that do not display their prices. During my recent visit, I requested a side of vegetables with creamed spinach, only to have the waiter suggest adding potatoes without mentioning that it would cost extra. Additionally, the house wine by the glass was quite pricey. It seemed like some prices were arbitrarily set. The waiter's response to my questions was simply 'sorry,' which left me with the impression that they expected customers to just accept any additional charges. It's best to clarify and confirm all charges to avoid any confusion when the bill arrives. Proceed with caution when submitting expense claims for business meals at this establishment!
