When I heard about Jolin's halfway through my 4-month stay in Dublin, I made the 2km walk from Trinity at least 4 times. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was going to love this place. The owner's son was playing video games with his friend after school and welcomed us as we entered. One day when I was there, the son was joking around with us and entertaining my friends and me. We tried to get some work done, but couldn't resist hanging out and enjoying the warm, family-owned shop atmosphere. The food looked fantastic, but I always went for the delicious Vietnamese coffee. In fact, this place inspired me to buy my own Vietnamese coffee equipment, and now I make it daily at home since I'm no longer in Dublin. If this place wasn't a 2km walk for me, I would have gone there every day. Inside, I met an elderly man who had been a regular for over 10 years and had watched the son grow up. What a wonderful spot. Next time I'm in Dublin, I really hope this place is open because it will be my first stop.
Just paid 35 quid for the most tasteless meal I think i ever ate. Zero love put into the meals. Bland. The 6 euro rolls were just iceberg lettuce with boiled chx. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
I frequently get takeaway from Jolin. Often ready for collection in less that 10 mins which is just amazing. Pho is unreal and such good value. Staff are so friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend
Viet is perhaps my favourite cuisine, and Jolie's range is textbook execution. The pho and rolls are on point. As an additional highlight of Jolie's premises, she has a small side-garden if you want to dine outside.
Lovely place, nicely decorated and there's a nice terrace as well. I tried Vietnamese coffee which tasted more like Nescafe. I've had Vietnamese coffee many times before and the coffee that I tried here is a very bad copy of Vietnamese coffee. It doesn't seem to have the taste nor the lovely smell that's very typical of Vietnamese coffee. The only original ingredient seems to be condensed milk. Will go back but to try something else on their menu.
