Camden Rotisserie - Dublin

Lovely little alternative indie bar which is a lovely place to grab a drink. We had two drinks here and enjoyed the quiet bar/pub.

First of all just to let everyone know I have never written a review of any place and I never intended to as I’m fairly easy going and don’t think my opinion is that important but what happened here still annoys me a year later as I felt my morals as a person were questioned. It was august 2021 on the day of the all Ireland hurling final and after the match me and a few friends arrived in. We had got 2 or 3 rounds at this stage, great atmosphere, things were great. It came my turn to get the round so at this stage it was still table service so I asked the girl working could we get another round, she was roughly my own age 21ish if I was to guess. 20 minutes went by and we hadn’t got our round and I had seen her take orders and deliver them to other tables so I asked her again and another 15 minutes went by and no drinks. So one of the lads asked another lad working there and he said no problem and got the drinks, My friend that asked payed the €80 for the round, happy days. 10 minutes later the girl I had asked came up to me saying I never paid for the round we were drinking, I replied “yes we did” and she just goes “oh so you’re refusing to pay” and runs out. A minute later she arrives with a bouncer now shouting saying you can pay or get out. I calmly said yes we did go ask the lad over there we paid him, which she completely ignored and didn’t even enquire about. From that point on anytime we tried explaining the situation to her she just cut us off saying “get out if your refusing to pay”. At this point all the pubs in the area were full due to Covid restrictions so we knew if we left we wouldn’t have anywhere to go for the evening, so for the sake of not ruining our weekend I sucked it up and payed €80 for a round I never got because I was put between a rock and a hard place. I felt robbed and even more insulting was the waitress questioning my morals. I just want to emphasize I have never written a review no matter how good or bad my experience was but 12 months later I still get annoyed thinking about this experience I just had to bring it to the attention of management and customers. If I was to guess she probably realized she had messed up but because she overreacted so quickly and had involved the bouncer she was probably too stubborn to admit she was wrong.

You have a table booked and are happy to go for a night out with friends after a while in lockdown, right? Wrong! As you are in the line, your latino friends are bounced back by the racist staff and you obviously won’t get in a place like that. Not to mention how bad it is to see your friend’s happiness leave their eyes and that nice “night out” mood becomes sadness for being discriminated just because they were born in a different continent It’s disgusting that we still have to face this, specially in Ireland, such a mixed races place!

Excellent stay. Room a bit small and view was a brick wall but we were only in town for a concert so not really bothered. Everything spotless and clean, staff really helpful difficult to find parking but staff helped would recommend getting tube in PERFECT for the Roundhouse which is literally across the road

There’s a deadly artsy girl behind the bar in a large black shirt!!!!!! Smells kinda weird though. Great worker
