Bistro Le Monde - Dublin

Excellent food. Great service. Our waitress Anna was very nice, pleasant and very efficient . Really great experience. Will definitely visit again.

Where to begin? We arrived and were pointed to our table by the only waiter working for the night. Although it wasn’t busy there were about 4 tables with people. We were given menus and had to wait around 20 minutes for the order to be taken. Waited without drinks for our starters to arrive for another 20/25min, then got the drinks after a whole wait. Starters were decent prawns and mussels but you could tell the mussels were bland despite the sauce. Waited again for mains which was quite honestly was an embarrassment. As a former chef this was I mean… diabolical. My partner ordered chicken supreme and I ordered a rare steak with greens. Broccoli was nearly raw no seasoning at all on both dishes, the steak was not rare, was tasteless and honestly dry. Came with some thick gravy meant to be jus that was salty af but I’m sorry in what restaurant do you order a steak with peppercorn sauce and it comes with jus on top of it and then peppercorn sauce on the side? I was confused. The peppercorn sauce which came was so strong I couldn’t have it and I told the waiter in the end to taste it himself. My partner’s chicken was bland, unseasoned, dry. The sauce was appalling tasted of Knorr, literally. It probably was cooked in a water bath because that’s what it tasted like. When I told the waiter about all of this, I provided him with a compliment because he had indeed been very nice to us although he didn’t have a clue of what he was doing or hadn’t been trained properly. Not taking the wine glasses away, not giving the correct cutlery for steak straight away, no check backs on food. After the complain the guy goes and polishes glasses in the bar instead of asking if we’d like the bill or offer something at least. I actually felt sorry for him because he did seem like a nice guy. I told him about the food, I told him exactly everything I stated above and still had to pay €95 despite neither of us having had alcohol and leaving our main courses. Perhaps we were too kind as the couple next to us complained and were rude and didn’t have to pay anything. I have too much respect for this industry and the people in it to be rude but this was just an embarrassment. There was no atmosphere and I never felt so much second hand embarrassment in my life. Bistro le monde, more like Bistro runaway.

Delighted to find this interesting restaurant. Comfortable with a wide ranging menu and everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was efficient and super friendly. It deserves to do well a real find

Special night out. Lovely food. Nice atmosphere friendly staff and good service very attentive.

Had dinner here last night ….excellent food and Nathan our waiter was great! Highly recommend !!! Don’t know why there weren’t more people in the restaurant, but please go and support this lovely place!
