Village Bakery Cafe - Dubbo

Each time I visit Dubbo I make sure I grab a pastie at the Village Bakery Café. But on the most recent visit in July 2017 this all changed when they announced that they no longer bake pasties. A pastie is as traditional as a meat pie and I was aghast when they said they no longer had them.I enquired as to why and was told that people do not ask for them anymore. Of course they don't because you've removed them from the menu board and the ovens. Might I suggest that the Village Bakery "promote" pasties and bring some good old fashioned history back into a country bakery.Interestingly two weeks later I travelled to Yea in Victoria and the bakeries in this little country town still do pasties. The Village Bakery in Dubbo is missing a great marketing and sales opportunity which other bakeries in town will no doubt pick up on.

Found the Village Bakery by accident. It is close to the Train Station and away from the parking problems of the Main Street. This was a pleasant place for lunch - clean, spacious and good selection of light food. We had 5 kids and there was no trouble all sitting together.The Pies were good as was the coffee. Easy parking.

Close to Central Dubbo, near railway station. Parking can be problematic as so popular. Quality of offer is beyond dispute but price is a bit steep. There is on-site seating plus play area for munchkins. If you like good bread, this is a winner..

I love country towns and bakeries. At Village Bakery I ordered a few bits from the sweets range and 2 pies. I absolutely loved the pies- they were delicious and fresh.

Best bakery! Great food, everything is fresh. Great customer service, just need more people behind the counter serving all their happy customers ????
