I live in Dubbo and have been to all the cafes here and Grapevine has to be my favourite. I continually bring my family and friends here mostly to order a milkshake. The grapevine has the best milkshakes in dubbo not to mention some of the most enjoyable food. Both the breakfast and lunch menu are really yummy especially the cakes out the front. I love the scene, service is always great and the workers are really friendly. 10/10 reccomend!
We arrived for an 8.30am breakfast. Food was fresh and tasty and plentiful. The eggs had a lovely flavor as did bacon. We suspected local produce. Coffee was good, service was quick and not pushy. We had enough space to discuss business over our meal.
Visited dubbo over the weekend and happened to drop in this cafe. Stunned by the courteous service.Ordered Bruschetta and a big veg breakfast for my wife. We both loved the food. Skim cappuccino was good too. Perfect blend; not too strong but great taste and aroma.Decided to go to this cafe again on next day and was not at all disappointed by service and food. No extra surcharge on public holidays.Crapes are really good, fresh and delicious.Strongly recommended.
So this is a beautiful older building in what is a lovely little regional centre. Tucked on Brisbane Street opposite the absolute jewel of the late Victorian Court house and the blank bunker of the next door Police Station I'm sure it's popular for local workers. Got there for breakfast-guided by the menu at the Quest hotel down the street. Menu for breakfast was usual items. They do other meals too.The interior is all floorboards and off white walls. It was nice enough. But more to be thought thru on decor esp vitally the wall decorations that need a rationalisation and more, historic, local photos and news papers would be a simple and low cost option. Capitalises on the history of the building which is one that is listed in the Dubbo historical walk pamphlet available from the ( exceedingly good) Info centre at the end of the Main Street (Macquarie St). But sitting in the Federation bay window was a pleasure that I enjoyed. Coffee was good. Well done. The obvious choice for breakfast (it's available everywhere after all) was Eggs Benedict. That came after a brief wait. The waiting girl was a bit disengaged but young. Perhaps a relative of the owner who is a wheelie-guy who made a good effort on chatting and checking satisfaction. Temperatures for the food were low. Could have been hotter. The poached eggs were absolutely perfect and the hollandaise very good. The dish was let down by two really easily fixed issues:1. Try and get a better bread base. A Tip Top English muffin is a let down. 2. But this next one is the killer- Never ever ever use round sliced packet ham! Just don't do that. Use leg ham and add a dollar to the price. This was the complete fail. All the rest was good and even the muffin forgiven but the ham! And heat the leg ham that should be used; even grill it on the hot plate for extra flavour. But no to packet ham! You can make that eggs Ben a totally different experience by doing this simple thing. Overall though a pleasant experience. Newspapers provided. Lovely outlook. There's a lovely back courtyard area. There's a BBQ there - I suspect things might get interesting later and maybe at weekends. But I don't know. Cashier very friendly. The experience could be lifted by the s moles the of things. Good enough though overall. I'm adding exterior shots and one the lovely Court building over the road.
