Rosso Amwaj Rotana Resort - Dubai

While there were no other reviews I chose this restaurant because of its location, picture in the app with a little sea view and the fact that it suggested business casual as manner of dress. While I realized that it wouldn’t be fine dining I did expect it to be more than it was. When we arrived they had no clue what Open Table was nor did they have a reservation. We were seated though. Most guests were dressed far less than business casual. We were surprised that this was actually a buffet that was ending in 30 minutes. We really didn’t want to rush with the buffet. They graciously offered an À la carte menu. It was ok, but a bit lean on choices. We both ordered a meal, which were as described and good. Probably a decent place to eat if you are staying at the hotel, but not somewhere you want to wander in off the street.

The chef was excellent, very entertaining and polite. However, the server seemed unhappy and we were told that the draft beer was not available with no alternative offered besides bottled beer, without considering the cost. The food was excellent, though the prawns and lobster may have been slightly overcooked. Overall, it was a great night and our friends enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the server made our evening a bit disappointing.

Fantastic as usual. The food and service were excellent, and the drinks were also very good.

The service was good, but the kitchen was slow. Prices were decent, though not necessarily a good bargain. The quality of the sushi was average, but they had a wide menu and friendly staff.
