A friend and I visited Lalezar for Iftar, using the Entertainer buy-one-get-one-free set menu AED 195pp; effective AED 135 for both of us after considering coffee (from the menu). When we came there, our table was already placed with some iftar appetizers, including traditional figs, some slowly cooked chicken in walnut, milk and olive oil, salads, stemmed yogurt with garlic, an eggplant salad and water/unlimited juices together with some bread rolls (fresh and soft). Good enough to open our fasts with and all unique tasty in their own way. Sujuk, soup and some filo cheese rolls and a small meatball / Gravy dish came as part of the hot starters. For the main course we chose the mixed grill and dessert with the traditional sponge cake with orange syrup and vanilla ice cream and baclawa with syrup and vanilla ice cream. We also got a small watermelon/Pieapple fruit plate to share. Overall, the food was very good, supplemented by friendly and efficient service. The lambs in the mixed grill were very delicate and juicy. The dessert was excellent – the traditional sponge cake was the star of the show. At first glance, the mixed grill may not seem so great a serving, but as soon as you get through it, you are quite filled, especially since the starters have now begun to set up you system. At the end of the dessert we could hardly make it through the humble fruit plate! Overall, a worthy addition to Dubai's competitive Iftar scene – something simple but tasteful and also this is the only place I was in Iftar this year that included water as part of the set menu (together with the usual Ramadan juices). So fundamental, but usually overlooked by other institutions. Well done for the team.
Beautiful decor, excellent friendly staff and authentic Turkish food.
