Contribuiți la feedbackOpen between 3:00 pm and 8:30 pm, despite the challenges of COVID-19, this quaint lodge offers top-notch food and service. Reservations are highly recommended. We tried the pecan-crusted steak and Atlantic salmon and both were delicious. The view of the riverfront property on the edge of downtown Dryden was a nice touch.
I was disappointed with my dining experience this time. I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and this visit was a letdown. The portion of fish was small and overcooked. The service from the staff was friendly. Overall, it was a bad choice on my way back to Thunder Bay from Winnipeg. I paid $85 for a small piece of fish and chips, two French onion soups, fries, and two pieces of carrot cake. This was not worth the price. I apologize for the negative review.
We were able to sit outside due to Covid restrictions, but we enjoyed our meal at the picnic tables overlooking the river. The walleye and chips were delicious, especially with the house-made slaw. The fish tacos, also made with walleye, were excellent as well. The fish was crispy and not greasy. The Spring Mix Salad was fresh and must be tried with the Hagens Dressing, a recipe that was developed in Dryden by a restaurant owner (if I remember correctly) and purchased by the current owners of the lodge 45 years ago. If you're looking for a place to stay, this lodge is a great option with spacious rooms full of character.
The food here is amazing and is our way for special times. We go to the restaurant with our friends for birthday and anniversary and go to the bar lounge for lunch.
On the expensive side, but it is worth a treat once in a while to eat in their beautiful dinning room. Food is amazing, wait staff is wonderful, the ambiance is over the top. The bar area has great bar food, and am excellent staff....Best place in Northwestern Ontario to eat!
