Not the young waitress, nor the young waiter. of course, it was a sunny day and the Beer garden was quite occupied. I asked the waiter for service, and...he told me to wait until he will find time.... he said, this is a Gasthaus and not a Treibhaus, what means, do not set me under pressure or you can wait much longer........we left! My suggestion, there are much more real Gasthaus in Dresden, no need to go to Oma und Opa.
A great find, close to our hotel. Very traditional German restaurant, that looks like it has been the same way for decades. Old furniture and decorations add to the charm of the place. The menu is traditional German food, very hearty and substantial (huge portions! ....Well cooked and served by friendly professional staff. Excellent value for money, especially given the size of the portions.

This restaurant has been on my to do list for years. I was recommended as a good place for traditional German food. I can not fault the food. It was well prepared and flavorful., I had the goulash and the strudel,. Prices where a bit...high for a out of the way restaurant. two of our 3 person reservation arrived a bit early and after sitting down we where asked for a drink order to which we replied we are waiting for someone else to join. When our third arrived then again before we finished greeting each other we where asked again. We asked for a moment and quickly started to look. It was hard going as the items have novelty names like Uncle John´s steak and they choose Gothic font for the text. Still lucky we where able to make a selection as the waiter returned an promptly told us this is the third and last time he will come by. So i dock a star for that.
