Sauce Boss Southern Kitchen - Draper

Oh yeah, it’s as good as it looks. A true Southern experience right here in Utah. While the decor doesn’t scream anything special, the food is a completely different story. The chicken was incredibly crispy and juicy, the bacon cheese fries had a cheese sauce that was unbelievable, the portions were huge, and EVERYTHING was seasoned to perfection. This is truly soul food. I felt like losing my belt and passing out afterwards, so you know it’s good. I will be back soon cause I really need to try that apple bread pudding!!

Hubby and I needed a date night away from the kids, and after catching the episode of Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives where they featured Sauce Boss Southern Kitchen, I knew we had to try this place! We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and Okra appetizer and the Red Drink to start. Both were amazing! For dinner, my husband got the shrimp and grits and I ordered the pork shank. It was all absolutely delicious! And HUGE portions, guys! Huge! We both left absolutely stuffed and still had enough to each have a full meal the next day! Every meal that passed our table, looked amazing. I personally loved the whole ambience of the restaurant, the staff was friendly, and we loved that the owner and chef, Julius, came to ours and every other table (from what we noticed) to check on his guests and make sure they were enjoying the food and experience. Highly recommend everyone to try Sauce Boss Southern Kitchen!

Absolutely top notch. Dining room was clean, all the staff was polite, approachable, and informative. All our menu items were fabulous and I could taste completely different flavor profiles in each item. Black eyed peas were amazing and the cornbread was sweet crumbly just like my grandpa from East Texas used to make. The honey butter was so good it eat Id eat it on an old shoe. We will definitely be back.

This chef is amazing. Not only is he one amazing guy, but you can taste the love in the food and know that this is a work of passion, not just a paycheck. They aim to please, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful, the food is an incredible balance of acid, salt, heat, crunch and cream. If you're looking for food for the soul that truly satisfies, this is the place. I'm hard to impress, but this place has me hooked!

Authentic, delicious, unique and amazing cuisine! Everything from the tender pork chops, savory sauces, fried chicken like I have never had before, sides that were shockingly good, drinks that are refreshing and cornbread that takes you back to the south! I highly recommend the Sauce Boss Southern Kitchen and agree with the other 5 star reviews! The owner and Executive Chef Julius took time to introduce himself and checked in with us multiple times during our visit. He is a humble, talented and gifted chef! We will be back again.
