Contribuiți la feedbackUpon arrival, we were seated right away and were fortunate to have Angelique T. as our server. We enjoyed our usual salsa and chips, which were delicious (with a nice kick to the salsa), and then placed our orders. My wife chose the Combo 10 – two cheese enchiladas topped with cheese and enchilada sauce, alongside a tamale. I opted for the Chile Colorado Dinner. My wife had a beer, while I ordered the house margarita (on the rocks with salt, of course). The food was fantastic, and my pork Chile Colorado, with tender chunks of pork and flavorful sauce topped with Monterey Jack cheese, was delightful! Our only complaints were twofold: first, the restaurant closed at 8:30 PM, giving us only about 30 minutes to order after arriving at 8:00 PM, and secondly, Angelique, knowing the closing time, didn't come to take my beer order before the restaurant closed. She came by at 8:32 PM, and when I asked for a draft beer, she informed me that it would be illegal to place another order since the restaurant was closed. I still had half of my meal left! It was disappointing. I switched to ice water, but I was not pleased that she didn’t check on us sooner. Overall, I’m giving four stars for the excellent service and great food. Thank you!
It took a little while for the waitress to reach us to take our order, as she seemed to have a lot of tables to manage. We ordered the #4 combo, which included a chicken chimichanga smothered in enchilada sauce and a cheese enchilada, accompanied by rice and beans. My husband opted for the combo #2, featuring a chili verde enchilada, a chili Colorado enchilada, a cheese enchilada, a beef taco, and rice and beans. He really enjoyed his meal, noting that the chili Colorado had just the right amount of heat, and the beef taco was crispy and flavorful. The rice and beans were also good, and it came with sour cream. The portion sizes were generous. As for my chicken chimichanga, it mostly contained dark thigh meat with very little white breast meat, and I found it lacked flavor, which was disappointing. However, the cheese enchilada was excellent. The rice has been improved and is now much better—less hard than before—and the beans were good with melted cheese on top. They serve Coke products, although we had to ask for a refill. It also took quite a while to get our check.
My husband and I have lived in Salt Lake for over 25 years and have passed by Guadalahonkys numerous times while traveling through Draper. We always found their name amusing. After seeing that they managed to survive the COVID pandemic, I suggested to my husband that we should give the place a try one day, thinking that they must be decent since they’ve been around for so long. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. To their credit, two of the waitstaff recommended the chicken chimichanga, but we chose different dishes. A restaurant should offer more than just one or two noteworthy items, especially when there's a menu with so many options. Additionally, the restaurant could use a thorough cleaning, as it felt a bit dusty. The service we received wasn't particularly engaging. When I mentioned to our waitress that my husband’s dish was terrible, she offered to get the manager, but my husband prefers to avoid confrontation and decided to eat his meal regardless. I declined her offer, as I knew it would upset him. One positive aspect was that they provided chips and salsa right when we sat down and refilled them throughout our meal. They were decent but nothing special. I ordered the grilled fish tacos, which were quite disappointing. My husband had the sweet pork chimichanga, but the pork was tough, dry, and burnt. It seemed as if they had simply slathered it in sweet sauce to mask the overcooking, which left me utterly shocked. In short, we won’t be returning. I also realized the importance of checking reviews beforehand, as we decided to go on a whim since it was dinnertime and we happened to be in the area. I wish we had skipped it.
Food was great, as always, and our server Angelique was very busy but very attentive! Great late lunch experience.
I've been living in Utah for about 3 yrs now. I can officially say, I found the worst restaurant. Im sure prison food would taste better than what they're serving. Come to think of it, it's the worst restaurant I've came across in my entire life. Really wish I took a picture of the food to warn others of what to be expected. To the owner, Cut your losses and find something you're actually passionate about.
