He said they're doing some good things there and I can see why. The guy who greeted us and took our order was really cool and really friendly. He even pointed in the direction of some beautiful likes further up Hwy49! If that wasn't enough, the food was really good!! I ordered the prawns and fries and they use real prawns not the prebreaded store bought shrimp most places use. My wife got the chicken strips and you could tell they were made there not prebreaded strips most places use. The fries were fresh cut too! I recommend this place to anyone who in the area and like good food and friendly service. We'll definitely be going back!!
After a weekend exploring the backcountry, we dropped into Downieville looking for a meal, only to get skunked. A local told us to head a mile or so down the road to Coyote Creek Kitchen. We were happy to find them open, and not disappointed in this small, hole-in-the-wall cafe. The food and service were equally great. The Coyote Burger was amazing! Well worth the money.
Highly recommend! This place is the best and everything John makes is delicious, not from the area but would drive up to Downieville just to stop at his place. The buffalo wings, prawns and yakosoba are a definite favorite! Can’t wait to go back!
Yummy!! If you're looking for home cooked food served with a smile, this is the spot. Great selection of lunch items. We stopped in around 12 noon, and each ordered BLTs and also a shrimp salad. The fries were homemade!!! Super delicious. They do take out only.
A random little gem in the middle of the mountains. Three in my group got the coyote burger and it is huge! I was happy to see a fresh salad just the way I like it greens, berries, and a hearty helping of blue cheese. Highly recommend!
