Bob's Big Boy - Downey

Came here for an early party. party of 4 on Friday at 18:30 clock. we sat right away. clean and attentive. our server was amazing, but I didn't get their names. it's probably over 20 years since I've been with a giant recorder and it was just what I remember! the salat of the dressing! amazing! then I couldn't decide what to get away from. I went with the fried chicken. do it! it was perfect! and had to cover it with a sunshade. hopefully it's not 20 years to my next visit. thank you!

I’ve not had Bobs Big Boy for over 35 years, they closed the location near me and the Red Relish that went on the Big Boy burger has stuck with me. When I found there was one in Downey and were in Bellflower it was a no brainer. I had the Big Boy, son had the Best Cheeseburger on the Planet, wife had the House Salad, Chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. The place took me back to when I was young, server was outstanding, great food and my son said he didn’t know if it was the best on the planet but his cheeseburger was the best he’d had ever. Told him the Red Relish is the best pairing ever with American Cheese and meat and is what memories are made of. Super cool inside and staff is friendly and quick to make your visit the best. If you’ve never tried the Red Relish then do yourself a solid and order the Bobs Big Boy Burger and if your super hungry, order the four paddy one. Enjoy the pics! Plenty of handicap parking as well.

Ok, it's not exactly the same as back in the day. They don't have French salad dressing anymore. The big boy bun is a lot thicker and the lettuce isn't as shredded as it used to be. But, the hot fudge cake is exactly the same! That was worth the drive.

For some reason, this location is far above other ones. The fries are extra delicious, the burger extra well executed. Service is great.

The food was delicious and the service excellent. It brought back childhood memories of having great times at Bob's Big Boy.
