Contribuiți la feedbackTo say that we were disappointed with the service and food is an understatement. The views are excellent but you could not make up how bad the food situation was. We ordered 3 steaks, 2 rump medium and 1porterhouse rare, and one lamb shank meals. 2 steaks arrived with the going sauces and whilst we were working out how to deal with that the staff swooped in and removed the plates. Sorry wrong order. Then the steaks arrived both rump steaks were blood rare and we were not able to eat them. One also came with the wrong sauce. The supposed rare porterhouse order by a steak officianado was a medium rump and most definitely not the more expensive porterhouse. Therefore his was also not eaten. Then it comes to the lamb shanks. Can I have the traditional mashed potatoes with that. No we are out. Do you have potatoes. Yes. Do you have a masher. Yes. Then I suggest ladies and gentlemen of the jury that you DO have mashed potatoes. But apparently not. Sounds like way too much effort. And then the piece de resistance. I go to the bar to order two beers. The bar attendant picks up 2 used glasses from the bar and asks if I mind if she uses them. Since I have no idea where they have been and whose they were I said that I would prefer (which is probably some sort of health regulation anyway) to have fresh glasses. Well you would have thought that this was a highly unreasonable and unusual request. Are you out of glasses I say and I think so is the answer. I will go and see if I can find some. Am still trying to work out how a bar can run out of glasses especially if its practice is to reuse them. Anyway that was our experience at the RSL. Like I said you couldn't make that up. We were tired travellers just looking for a good hot meal and a cold beer in a fresh glass. Maybe we got them all on a bad day.
The pork loin with Apple and blue cheese dressing The best pork we have ever eaten! The chef is a genius. Just superb!
Special views and great atmosphere in this time warp club with modern conveniences .
Always have a good meal at Dover RSL. Beautiful views, friendly staff
First up: haven 't received our meals yet. Sensational view from the greens! Limited hours of operation, but to be fair, it was a Sunday night in spring, so still a bit chilly out. A small town so what lacks in quantity of memorabilia is made up for with real, home town stories. The shield in honour of 'Unc ' lost in battle in WW2 is hanging with pride and resonates from a bygone era. Update: saw some meals delivered to a nearby table. Chips look spectacular. Chicken Parmie is very generous in size. Waitress suggests the local seafood but battered fish should be outlawed in the constitution. So local teriyaki salmon is on the way. Handwritten note sent to a local WW1 soldier hangs in the dining room.
