Fat Dog Kitchen - Dover

During our visit to Portsmouth, we searched for a lesser-known restaurant, and we found a fantastic local gem. The place is cozy, and although we had to wait for a table for four, they kindly offered free coffee to pass the time, which didn’t take long. The food was amazing! I think I've found my new favorite spot, overtaking the Friendly Toast. The house-made biscuits and gravy were exceptional—I could eat that every morning if possible. My wife ordered one of their pancakes, which was enormous and delicious. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos because we devoured everything within seconds!

We had a short wait of about 20 minutes since it's a small restaurant, but I'd gladly wait more than an hour for this place. From the very first bite, I couldn't help but moan "OMG" out loud, and I felt the same way with every bite until the last. The food was incredible, the staff was wonderful, and the atmosphere was lively. I even had to take a cinnamon roll to go after seeing one pass by—I just had to have it!

This is a charming little restaurant with delicious food! We ordered the Danny Boy burrito and the Boo, both of which were fantastic with generous portions—though I think the Boo had a slight edge. We also tried the Fat Elvis, which was very tasty. Overall, the food is excellent, customer service is top-notch, and the ambiance is casual and laid-back. Prices are reasonable, and cleanliness is satisfactory.

Absolutely delicious. We got their Captain?s French Toast and omelette special, both of which are fantastic and not expensive. Definitely worthy of the high rating on here.

Was there with my partner, and we both ordered the 2 Eggs with Corned Beef Hash and Home Fries with Pancakes. Everything was superb, from the service, to the food, and the decor. VERY intimate spacing in the dining room. May be a potential issue for large parties, but with the wait. Overall, we throughly enjoyed our experience at The Fat Dog Kitchen, would surely return in the near future.
