Hostel Alma Cafe Express - Dover

It is a good value for money if you need a roof before you drive for early ferry, but do not want to spend on a bed that is good for you. Make sure you understand the word hostel right. It is basically room with private bathroom. Not much room there, so don't take luggage into the room.

It is a very simple hostel, cafe dining area was closed because of Kovid. Breakfast was good and there are shops nearby to buy needs. The room was small clean and simple and comfortable. J

Moderate Hotel. Very reasonable price. The attic rooms have really low ceilings, but it is worth saving an additional Buck. Breakfast was not so great, toast and eggs were cold and needed for a while. Suboccupied, but the staff is very accommodating with regard to the storage of baggage mail check-out.

While the location was really great, the unfortunate part of the street noise, the unlimited supply of cars drive down the street and people who walk under the window to hear conversation are easy. We left the window due to the ventilation and got the bottom of the noise that is understandable as it was Halloween weekend. The TV worked nicely with several channels. The owner was very accommodating and made sure that the room was ready for us. I would suggest some foam seals for the doors when I heard the doors were opened and easily closed. Otherwise, if you're looking for a deal, Alma is good!

We stayed one night, there was 3 of us. In general it is quite simple and easy getting around Dover, the hostel location was good distance from things such as the railway station, White cliffs, castle and beach. We had to call a number to check in (which was written on a post-it note on the door). The hostel is under construction so there was no access to the kitchen, which wasn't mentioned before hand but left us 3 small water bottles and got us a mirror to get ready in the morning. The bathroom was tiny, especially the sink was making more of a mess brushing my teeth! There was a hairdryer, towel and small hand towel in the bathroom. One of us decided to leave hand luggage behind to be collected later, which was easy to collect. Overall for a one nights stay and the price it was good.
