This is the best schnitzel in Sydney, if not in all of Australia. I make it a point to come here every time I'm in Sydney. It's superb! I recommend ordering the veal schnitzel rather than the chicken; in my opinion, the veal is the better choice.
We ordered the Transylvanian layered cabbage with minced meat and Hungarian sausage, which was fantastic until we discovered it was cold in the middle. Our waiter promptly took it back to the oven and returned it quickly, steaming hot—truly superb! But it does make you wonder how such a mix-up occurs in a well-established place. Next, we tried both types of wiener schnitzel served with French salad and fries (the fries were just average). However, the schnitzels were incredible—just look at the pictures! They were tender and juicy with the most delightful crumb coating. Overall, I think this place is fantastic. If you're in the mood for a home-style, traditional meal with generous portions, this is the spot for you. Be sure to book in advance, as it gets quite busy around 7:00 PM. We rarely indulge in dessert, but when we spotted the apple and cinnamon pancake being served, we couldn't resist. It was massive, resembling a calzone, filled with fruit and possibly the same apple mixture used in strudel. Absolutely delightful!
My favourite restaurant in Double Bay. Nice location and services are excellent. Their food are delicious. Tea/coffee is nice. Highly recommended.
Awesome beef burger, don't be put off by the dated decor. The burger was one of the best I've had. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely return.
