Solano Baking Co. - Dixon

I love this jewel of a local spot. They are always friendly, busy and their pastries, donuts and sandwiches are so good (my favorite I think the California Club on the croissant with turkey, avocado and bacon). I find my family and I have been there every weekend for something or another. My only complaint in this place is that they are at 3? so often I would like to immerse myself in 3 for a delicious treat. But that's not her problem.

Phenomenal donuts with a wonderful variety. Even if they are busy, you can expect a fast and wonderful customer service. It's our place where Dixon is over. Would love to add French cruelty to their menu. Dinosaur cookie was an explosion.

This restaurant isn't my cup of tea. I'm glad it's popular among locals. The decor is quite disappointing. The cookies look pale and unimpressive. I tried a donut instead, but it didn't taste very good. It doesn't compare to the top-notch donut places in Sacramento.

THE GREAT: Two words: half price. You get a lot of donut cubes for a great price, and everything I've tried there has been delicious. Half price is offered after 12pm, if I'm not mistaken. My personal favorite is the Boston cream, so I recommend getting there early before they sell out. The customer service is fantastic and the staff seems to enjoy their work. The apple fritter is more dough than apple, with just a few pieces mixed in, so it lacks a strong apple flavor. I would recommend sticking to the donuts. The bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant was disappointing - lacking cheese, flavor, and saltiness. Sausage may be a better option to balance the flavors. Despite these issues, I give this place 5 stars because everything else is great.

So much to choose from! Got there about 730a on a Saturday was overwhelmed with choices! Got a blueberry old fashioned doughnut, blackberry-lemon scone 2 breakfast bagels. Everything was amazing kinda bummed I didn’t get a muffin or 2 as well! Will be back! Also right off the hwy so perfect stop on the way to Tahoe!
