L'Absinthe - Dinan

We went for lunch again for the second time which is usually an indication a place is good. Had some great salad including one for a vegan (sans blue cheese) and one for a vegetarian (with blue cheese). All good. In a very nice location on a square near the English Gardens - there was a wedding reception going on in the square which was great fun to watch. Recommended!

Une pause déjeuner en solitaire avec ce dont je rêvais depuis 2 jours: Salade verte et jacket potatoes, que j'ai choisies nature: sel ,poivre, huile d'olive. Simple et efficace! La potatoe était bien dorée, l'accueil sympathique, la terrasse agréable...

Popped in here early one morning for coffee just after it opened on our way off the Portsmouth -St Malo overnight ferry. The owner (believed) was very accommodating and offered to make us croque monsieurs as we were feeling peckish. These were excellent as was the coffee. We then popped in again on our way back to catching the ferry for a few drinks and again it proved a good little bar. It was lovely and the service was excellent again. Nice to sit outside watching the world go by in a lovely square.

Dans le cadre magnifique d'une belle demeure de pierre dans saint Malo intra muros, un accueil sympathique, un service excellent, une cuisine raffinée, et savoureuse, inventive, des vins délicieux et adaptés aux plats. Une belle et agréable soirée.

Been here dozens of times and it's one of our favourite places, small authentic French bar with outside terrace seating great for just drinks and watching the world go by or for lunch. Food is always delicious and I recommend the salads. Very busy in the mornings for coffee and lots of locals frequent the place as the coffee is very good and the staff are really friendly.
