Uptown BBQ - Detroit

Throw the whole restaurant away! Poor customer service, orders wrong and not worth the hassle or money. It's sad when even the Detroit Police were in there and the service was poor for them as well. The lady in front of me didn't get her pop. The man in front of her was missing wings. I waited over 20 minutes for 1/4 dark chicken, shrimp and fries only to receive white meat. I waited so long, I ordered a rib and chicken combo only for the server and cashier to go back and forth about the meals and sides being included. This is definitely not the Uptown of the 80s. ??‍ I called and the manager never came to the phone. They left me on hold over 3 minutes. They will never see another dime of my money.

Came in yesterday 7/24 The lady there was very nice seems like she was the only one working counter still remained with a good attitude and very tentative.I order two rib snack dinner and the food was disgusting the ribs were tuff and seemed like we was giving the last left in the pan hard flat bone pieces. The macaroni and cheese was by far the worst tasting I had ever had. I don’t know if a cheese sauce was made but tasted clumpy looked clumpy over cooked noodle and heavenly seasoned with black pepper and garlic. The yams was so sweet they hurts your teeth I never had candied yams soooo sweet .the collard greens tasted like they needed to be cooked longer they had a tuff texture to them they needed more seasonings. overall I paid for this food and was very disappointed I don’t what happened but whatever happened needs attention $35 on a meal and only able to eat ribs from rebaking them isn’t cool at all.

We spent over $100 for food.. I requested extra sauce, and instead of complimentary sauce they wanted to charge … needless to say I refused to pay another penny. Henceforth Ribs fries had little to no bbq sauce on them!Food: 3 5

Customer service is sub par. There was only two people working in the place on a Friday evening. Quality of food has really changed. Collard greens were good but the black eyed peas needed to be seasoned.Food: 3/5

Service was fine. The food looked like it was going to be delicious. The catfish was unseasoned tasted horrible. The Mac n cheese as stated in other posts overcooked and tasted like boxed Mac n cheese not from scratch. The greens were unseasoned.The ribs and shrimp were the only good thing. But now myself and husband or both sick and been throwing up and been on toilet all night. Paid 80.00 fir food poisoning.
