Contribuiți la feedbackI came across a review mentioning that there are no restrooms in this place, and I found it hard to believe. But it turns out to be true, so take note if you have a small bladder (like me!), a tendency to need the bathroom after drinking (which is pretty much everyone), or if you suffer from IBS. It's an interesting stop at this cozy spot near the Edison Park Metra station, likely popular with commuters. I really like the chalkboard menu and the variety of trendy drinks they offer, such as Nutella mochas, apple cider, and the amaretto white chocolate mocha I tried on my visit. My drink was a bit on the sweet side, but it was still delicious enough that I finished it quickly. There are a few small tables for seating, including some window seats looking out over the train tracks for those with a little extra time. For regular visitors, there’s a punch card for frequent buyers—buy 10 drinks, and you’ll get one free!
Occasionally, I forget that Edison Park is actually within the limits of Chicago. The neighborhood has a distinctly suburban feel to it. The Cafe at LeFlour is located right across the street from the Edison Park Metra Station, at the corner of Oliphant and Olmsted. It was a beautiful day, and after my nail appointment, I wanted to take a stroll to catch some Pokémon and hatch my 10km egg. Walking into this coffee shop felt like visiting your favorite aunt's house. However, I can assure you that your aunt might not have the variety of specialty drinks that Cafe at LeFlour offers. I remember reading in the DNA Info newspaper about their nitro coffee, which caught my interest. Although it was on the menu, I hesitated at the mention of it having "2-3X more caffeine than regular coffee," so I opted for a seasonal peppermint mocha instead. They also have a delightful selection of homemade pastries, including pop tarts, cookies, scones, croissants, and more. While I don’t often crave coffee these days, I still have a sweet tooth. From what I understand, The Cafe at LeFlour is the only independent coffee shop in Edison Park, and they serve Tugboat Coffee, an artisan coffee brand from Addison, IL.
The coffee and espresso drinks here are outstanding. Although there are a few pastries available, the selection is somewhat limited.
I've been a regular at LeFlour Cafe for years, enjoying their drinks and pastries, but this was my first time ordering a cake. This year, my son's third birthday coincided with Mother's Day, so I wanted to go for a half Spider-Man and half floral design. The cake they created exceeded all our expectations! It was not only visually stunning but also tasted incredible. It truly made our rainy at-home celebration a memorable one. Thank you, LeFlour Cafe!
I’m not familiar with the area, but I decided to stop by for some caffeine. The atmosphere inside is charming and very inviting. The staff member at the counter was incredibly helpful and allowed me to sample their Nitro coffee from the tap. I went ahead and ordered it and took a moment to relax. While I was there, many customers came in, and some were greeted by name, showing that everyone was treated with care. I really enjoyed the vibe and would definitely come back to spend more time here.
