Contribuiți la feedbackAn excellent choice for a cozy retreat! I felt inspired to leave a review after reading a less flattering one. Tucked away in a peaceful location, this inn was the perfect refuge after a rainy day of hiking nearby. The staff greeted me warmly and the spacious, comfortable room exceeded my expectations. The inn has been beautifully renovated and the affordable price left me wondering what anyone could possibly find fault with. Traveling alone with my dog, I was pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming atmosphere at dinner, complete with a crackling fire. The staff happily served my furry companion sausages and gravy, along with fresh water, while my own meal was absolutely delicious (even better than expected)! I enjoyed a delectable game pie. Thank you for making my stay even more wonderful than I had anticipated.
I recently stayed at the Moon Inn for a few nights during my visit to the Peak District, and it was a fantastic discovery. The pub and its staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The establishment offers a great variety of beers and wines. The room I stayed in was comfortable, tastefully decorated, and very well-maintained. We ended up dining at the pub for both nights of our stay, even though it was not part of our initial plans, because the food was simply outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and are already looking forward to returning in the future!
The service at this restaurant was very friendly and attentive. We both ordered the roast (nut and beef) and were both impressed with how amazing it tasted. The portions were huge and the prices were very reasonable. We couldn't find any faults with our experience. It's also a dog-friendly pub, making it the perfect place to visit.
Unfortunately, this inn is not very nice. The carpets are worn and dirty. The towels are ragged, threadbare, and dingy. Our bedspread had numerous stains on it. Ick! And the hallway and our room were filled with the smell of a “Plug In” that was overwhelming and made us wonder what the smell they were trying to cover up was. On top of the unpleasantness of the rooms, we were greeted by pub staff that appeared annoyed to have to serve our drinks, and kitchen staff that seemed even more annoyed to have to take our orders, and deliver our food. If it is so cumbersome to provide appealing accommodations, and friendly and helpful pub and restaurant staff, then perhaps this is not the correct industry for the proprietors to pursue.
Rude staff. Not interested in the customers in the slightest. No atmosphere. Beer great and pub could be great again. Just needs staff interested in the customers
