Riverside Fish And Chips

Today my partner, two grandsons, and I had a delightful lunch at Riverside Fish Chips. The haddock was the best I've ever had, and the fish fingers, battered sausage, and chips were enjoyed by everyone else. The manager and staff were very friendly and took great care of us. We will definitely be returning to Riverside Fish Chips when we visit Matlock again.

Strolling along the waterfront in Matlock Bath, passing by tempting fish and chip shops, I couldn't indulge in the delicious smells because my wife has a gluten intolerance. She has a serious reaction to gluten, similar to Violet Beauregard from Willy Wonka. In a show of loyalty, I avoided fish and chip shops for a long time. However, as we walked past the Riverside Fish Bar, my wife spotted a sign on the door advertising Fresh gluten-free fish and chips served daily. Intrigued, we decided to give it a try. They exceeded our expectations! The restaurant had a separate fryer and preparation area for gluten-free foods. For the first time in years, my wife and I were able to enjoy fish and chips together. The batter was just right, not greasy, and the chips were piping hot and perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly and accommodating. To top it off, all the food and drinks were served in recyclable or compostable containers. It was a taste of heaven for us both.

We were initially disappointed because most of the famous fish and chip shops were closed in January. However, The Riverside was still open and serves the best gluten-free fish and chips we've ever tasted. Everything was fresh and crisp. The staff, including Andreas, Rachel, and Chris, were friendly, professional, and showed genuine interest in their customers. We both enjoyed the fish and chips with mushy peas, which were divine. We highly recommend The Riverside with a rating of 10/10. Thank you to all the staff at The Riverside for a great experience.

There are a plethora of fish and chip shops in Matlock Bath, and Riverside Fish Bar is a perfectly reasonable choice amongst them. It is the only one of them on the opposite side to all the other amenities Matlock Bath has to offer, and that means it is the only one that offers outside seating that isn 't literally on the main road side. It also means it is the only one that means you can eat your food on the banks of the Derwent, which is a very pleasant thing to do in the summer. Not quite so much in January... The food on offer here is perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with it, other than their idea of a 'large bag of chips ' is actually a medium sized tray of chips. No matter though the chips are decent and the cheeseburgers are surprisingly nice. Well worth a try. This is one of those places that charges 25p for sauces (at times of writing) because they sell them in those irritating plastic pots that are never quite big enough whilst also managing to be hopeless for the environment. They really maximise seating in here, so it can get quite tight when it is busy, however, like I say, there is outdoor seating, so there should always be somewhere to sit. Not a bad place at all. Worth visiting for sure.

Read all the reviews in Google.. u will see how bad. food poisoning worms in fish rude staff dirty toilets dirty hands touching food no lock on toilets under cooked food.. every thing u don't want in a resturant! my daughter qnd her boyfriend had parasites in her fish .... both bits of fish ! worms so big to. Refund given only for 2 x fish cos I'm guessing they expected them to eat the chips next to the worms Also next day felt unwell environmental health Derbyshire dales called. and said this is a quality fish issue... And I showed them all the reviews... case opened and on going..... I say no more because I hope they get closed down !!!
