Le Mistral - Derbyshire Dales

A few weeks ago, we went to this restaurant for a quick lunch. We ordered paté and a soup. Despite there only being 2 other customers, it took 45 minutes for our simple order to arrive. The paté came with a small portion of bread and the soup was mediocre at best. Both dishes were not worth the price. We were willing to give the restaurant another chance, but unfortunately, our experience did not improve. This level of service is unacceptable. What a disappointment.

The food and service at this restaurant are incredible, set in a cozy atmosphere. The quality of the food is top-notch, but the prices are comparable to what you'd find at a pub. If I lived closer, I would definitely dine here every day.

"The food was excellent. On our second visit, we opted for the lunch and dessert offer priced at £17.00, but we were actually charged separately for the lunch and dessert, which felt a bit deceitful. We only realized this after we arrived home."

Visited with family, nice ambience and decor, unfortunately that's where the positives end. The food was mediocre at best, I had mussels for my main meal and counted around 5 which were closed and inedible. My mother had a mushroom pasta dish and the mushroom was like rubber. I also noted that people on the table next to us ordered mussels as a starter and I was pretty unhappy to see it was served in the same portion size as the main but half the price as a starter. I'm fairly sure if you served this in France you would be flogged! Avoid!

Tasty, hearty food, and excellent service. Couldn't recommend more. Perfectly balanced tradition and creativity. The sweet chilli crab noodles was like having G Ramsay as my uni flatmate. Best meal out in long time.
