Contribuiți la feedbackWe came here for a tasty meal to celebrate my mother's birthday. The restaurant was not busy and the weather was nice, so we chose to sit outside. We ordered wine, hot drinks, and cakes. Unfortunately, just as we were enjoying our time, it started to rain heavily. We quickly gathered our belongings and tried to find shelter. However, a very rude employee informed us in front of other customers that we couldn't sit without ordering hot food. Despite our attempts to reason with him, we were forced to stand in the rain and finish our drinks. The customer service was shocking and extremely embarrassing. It would have been nice to be offered a temporary solution. There were no signs indicating that inside seating was only for hot meals. Overall, the experience was rude and unpleasant. We will not be returning.
Looks beautiful on the outside, but decor on the inside tired and inconspicuous. I had a long time, and water smelled and tasted unpleasant. the peach ice tea is actually branded and in a plastic bottle instead. a freshened maybe you should make this clear on your menu? but still a premium. woman behind the counter not particularly pleasant and if I only ordered drinks looked out. this is not the way to entice people to return and spend more money! we said we wouldn't come back.
Only stopped for a cuppa. it was terrible. cleaned half on the balls to try to add a little stronger tee after it had brewed a bit longer. half of it. even order was strange. which table? I was asked. at the lower end of the steps that I value... which side? near the wall? near the pavement?! there were only about 8 tables, so it wasn't rocket science!
During our stay in Ashbourne on the way home, we discovered a gem of a restaurant. It was one of the best dining experiences we've had in the Peak District. The glazed wobbles and brie quiche were absolutely delicious, and my partner enjoyed the baked ham salad sandwich. The service was excellent, and we will definitely be returning.
The coffee at this place is really good and the staff is friendly. The cakes and pastries are a bit expensive though. A great bonus is that they allow dogs in the restaurant.
