Salty Rita's - Denver

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is laid-back. My wife always orders the Southwest Caesar salad, which she adores. I typically go for the calabacitas burrito or the enchiladas, both of which feature delicious fajita veggies. The kids' menu offers a variety of options that our kids enjoy. We always leave this place feeling very happy we came!

I wasn't initially planning to visit Salty Rita's due to some negative reviews on Google, but since I was in Lowry for the evening and really wanted a margarita, I'm so glad we decided to give it a shot! Even though it was a busy Saturday night during the Wine Walk, we received attentive service and enjoyed some really good food. The margaritas were excellent and served in generous portions; the tacos were delicious, and the beans and rice that accompanied them were tasty as well. The fajita wrap, which they made clear wasn't the traditional sizzling platter of fajitas, was also quite enjoyable. For straightforward Tex-Mex, we would definitely return.

The kids' menu was impressive, offering the basics with an emphasis on freshness and flavor. My iced tea was strong, just how I like it—dark and robust. I had a substantial chicken quesadilla filled with grilled meat and just the right amount of peppers, avoiding the common Tex-Mex issue of being overloaded with cheese. My wife and mother-in-law enjoyed their grilled chicken enchiladas, topped with verde sauce and drizzled with goat cheese. They were tender and easy to cut with a fork. Personally, I would have preferred a rojo sauce (assuming that was an option), but that's a minor detail. For families, there are fountains for the kids to enjoy outside during the summer—just be sure to bring towels!

I have lived in Texas for 40 years and I know good tex mex. I have been to other places in town and they are not as good as this place. Get the trio dip. Their queso is delicious. I had the rellenos and they were great. Will definitely be back.
