I can't believe it took me this long to visit this bistro considering how many times I pass by Nordstrom. It is a nice place for a casual lunch/dinner with friends. While a bit pricy for what is offered in the menu, you are paying for the ambiance and service. After ordering at the front we picked a table and had an assigned waitress for the whole meal. I ordered the black forest ham and swiss sandwich which comes along with french fries. The sandwich was delicious, but would be even better if they offered it as a croque monsieur! Fries are thin but not that crispy. While I wouldn't go out of my way to return, it is a good place to come for a simple high quality meal without having to go to one of the busy and fancy restaurants in Cherry Creek.
I recently visited this restaurant to catch up with friends I haven't seen since I moved away from the area. I regret not trying this place when I lived nearby because I had a great experience. I had breakfast for dinner, which I love, and enjoyed the fresh and tasty bavocado omelette. The waitstaff was decent, although the wine selection left something to be desired. The food portions were just right, not too big. It was a nice, quiet spot to catch up with friends and actually have a conversation. I would definitely come back.
I sat at the bar after waiting over an hour for a reservation at the overpriced restaurant inside Cherry Creek Mall. The receptionist was rude. I decided to cross the street and found Brio, which had a similar feel but I think it was nicer than the one in Naples, Florida. After enjoying a Tanqueray gin martini and a Kale Caesar salad, I had forgotten about my previous experience. I highly recommend this place.
Nordtrom's Cafe Bistro in the Cherry Creek Mall is a very good restaurant. The quality of the food rivals many of it's tony neighbors in Cherry Creek. So don't be put off by the fact that you have to pass though the women's lingerie department to get there. The menus are at the entrance, and you order and pay at the register before you sit down. But from that point on, it is a normal restaurant experience and a waiter will take your order and bring your food. I had a club sandwich that was pretty unique. It looked more like a regular sandwich, as it was between two pieces of bread, not three. But who needs more bread? Between the slices of bread were turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado slices and raw green beans. The beans gave the sandwich a nice crunch and a fresh taste that was welcome. It was served with really good fries and accompanied by an excellent tapenade/aoli. Give this place a try.
