Africana Cafe - Denver

The food was absolutely delicious, and the chef provided a truly five-star experience. I would love to give a full five stars, but unfortunately, the host/server fell short. While she quickly brought us water, she seemed disinterested in engaging with us or taking our food order. Fortunately, the chef happened to notice that our table, along with another, had been waiting for quite a while and stepped in to take our orders. Otherwise, I'm not sure how long we would have waited. In contrast, she did show enthusiasm when assisting a group of gentlemen at the bar who approached her right away. I suspect the service issues may have been related to a language barrier, but it was also evident that she would rather be elsewhere than attending to our table. Overall, while the service left much to be desired, the food was fantastic.

The food was delicious and had a nice kick to it—I ordered the vegetarian platter. However, I was quite concerned that the prices on the menu were significantly lower than what I was actually charged. I'm not sure how this practice is legal, especially when you expect to pay the listed prices. I hope management takes this issue seriously and updates the menu, but based on the reviews, it seems the prices haven't been revised in years.

Absolutely fantastic! A wonderful selection of Ethiopian dishes that are both delicious and diverse. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly. I give it a AAA+!
