I was offered aged steak for the same price instead, but I prefer the regular steak. The pastis I ordered as an aperitif was served with tap water from a slightly peaty region, which did not enhance its natural flavor and was even worse when mixed with the anise drink.
We enjoyed the appetizer of Maredsous pear, apple, cheese, and salami. However, the cheese croquettes were dry and tasteless. Our friends had the beer balls, which were very good, but their accompanying salad arrived late and lacked a cover. The dish had too many small grapes that were not mentioned on the menu. After reminding the staff, a sauce supplement was brought, but it was too late. The dessert of loafed loaf with salted caramel ice was tasty but overly sweet. The room was noisy, but the spacing between tables in the back room helped with intimacy. Overall, our experience was mixed but not negative. Good luck to the team.
We had a week before our son's birthday. He's very happy to come to the abbey, especially for the lasagna. But when we got there, it turns out there was no way to reserve online, there was room, they said. When we went to dinner, it turns out there were no hot meals available. If this was on the site or on the Facebook page, we wouldn't have taken a lift. We should probably eat somewhere else for our son's birthday.
Despite confirming our reservation, the staff knew nothing, and we were standing there in a bad organization!
