Before arriving at the pub around 1:00pm, we took a leisurely walk to the falls just outside the village. The atmosphere at the pub was welcoming and the staff were friendly and courteous. We were seated in a cozy dining room and ordered the traditional Sunday lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, with generous portions of perfectly cooked beef, crispy Yorkshire pudding with crispy onions, roast potatoes, stuffing, parsnips, sprouts, red cabbage, and sweet carrots. All the vegetables were cooked perfectly. We highly recommend the Blue Lion to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a warm and inviting environment.
I went to this restaurant for a meal with friends. I ordered the hunter's chicken, which was overcooked and dry, lacking the promised BBQ sauce. The best part of my meal was actually the gravy from my friend's dish. We were seated and then left alone without any follow-up or chance to address the issue, making us feel like a burden to the staff. However, the appetizers we ordered were tasty. I don't think I'll be coming back in a hurry.
I stayed at this restaurant for one night in August with friends after a day on Lake Bala. We booked two lovely double rooms that were very comfortable, extremely clean, and well-decorated. We had a delicious meal of two fish and chips and two burgers, all homemade. The continental breakfast, which was included in the affordable room rate, was fantastic. It was laid out for self-service and kept us full all day. The highlight of our stay was the warm welcome from Donna. She was incredibly friendly and helpful, even arranging for us to store our bikes inside. The family atmosphere of the pub was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely return when I'm in the area again. Thank you!
Very good and friendly bar with good choice of drinks, both staff and regulars friendly .we were staying in Llandrillo about 3 miles drive but we'll worth it ,even if we got to village first we would carry on to travel here
The place was pleasant and service was good, but the cheese burger was only just edible. The bun was toasted to charcoal and the burger was overcooked, tough, chewy and tasteless. Had better frozen burger from Aldi.
