Although I didn't dine here before the new owners took over, I can confidently say that the food is fantastic! They serve enormous burritos and their margaritas look amazing! The waitstaff is attentive and provides great service. If you're passing through town, I highly recommend stopping by—I know I will!
It's essential to keep in mind that the labor shortage remains a major challenge, so let's avoid being too quick to criticize restaurants and other service-oriented businesses if their staff seems inexperienced or weary. Additionally, I want to mention that the pico de gallo is a bit saltier than what many might desire, though I personally liked it. They might want to consider reducing the salt a bit in the future!
This was the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I visited a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday and ordered takeout: a quesadilla with asada, a taco salad with chicken, and three asada tacos. The quesadilla was excessively greasy and tasted like it had just come off a grill caked in grime; it looked quite unappetizing, although the portion size was decent. The taco salad was mediocre—both in taste and appearance. The tacos were lacking in meat and were grossly overpriced at $3.50 each. The red salsa was watery and pretty much flavorless. I won't be returning to this place; if they haven't figured it out yet, they're unlikely to ever get it right. Prices are very high compared to other taquerias, no matter where you go.
I’m excited to have such amazing, authentic Mexican food right in my neighborhood. Honestly, even if you’re coming from Bellingham, it’s worth the drive. I wish I could say I’ve tried everything on the menu, but that’s not the case. The birria tacos have been sold out both times I visited their new location, so they must be fantastic! I usually stick to what I know is good, and my favorite is the adobada torta with jalapeños and no tomatoes. It's definitely one of the top two best tortas I’ve ever had! The only thing that could make it even better would be some guacamole. They do offer it, but it’s a bit different from what I’m used to — it’s more liquidy. Oh, and I would love it if they had a pombazo! I’ve also tried the adobada burrito, which was huge, just like the torta. They have alcoholic beverages available too, if that’s your preference. If you’re in Maple Falls, you should definitely stop by for a meal. You won’t regret it!
