Massey's Pizza Delaware

*I DID RESPOND TO YOUR EMAIL A COUPLE Of DAYS AGO. Always would give 5 stars, one of our favorites in town. Sadly was not the case on Thursday evenings pick up order. Food was way off. The large pizza was cut in tiny strips and was very dry. Extra cheese was ordered. There was no extra on it at all. Plus the pepperoni was left off. No seasonings on bottom of crust. The meatball sub had no cheese. Very little meat and dripping in sauce. The 2 Italian subs were flat. Mostly hard bread. The order taker said that a tip must be added to the order. ?? I actually picked up the order and was on time. No delivery. The nice thing was I only waited 5 minutes. I don?t mind waiting for things these days because I understand and respect staff shortages. I love the staff there. They are always very nice. Could have been an off night in the kitchen? It happens to everyone/place. Plus I know they are training new people. I?m not mad at all, just disappointed. I still highly recommend them.

Dinner for a family of 5 was almost $100. Quoted a delivery time of 1 hour. Order arrived in well over two hours. Order was lukewarm, and unappetizing. Stromboli was bland, and sauce was cold. If you are that far behind on deliveries please don't make the food until closer to when it will go out. Honestly, if someone had called me and explained the situation, I would have just driven out and gotten it so that we could have hot pizza. Extremely disappointed in what we got for what we paid.

Massey's only offers two types of crust: thin or deep dish. We ordered the thin crust and found it to be dry and brittle, resembling a cracker. Personally, I prefer a softer, foldable crust like traditional Italian pizza. The toppings were fresh and the cheese was good, but the overall taste was not what I am used to. I am unsure if I will order from Massey's again, as the limited crust options are not to my liking. Additionally, it would be convenient if they offered local delivery services, and I would be willing to pay extra for this service.

Update 7/7/22. I responded to the owners comment on this post and emailed them on 7/7/22. I still haven't heard from anyone. Noticed on a few of the reviews, the owner has offered to make things right if they're contacted but they dont follow through and dont respond to said email. Changing rating from a 3 to a 1 for taking up even more of my time as if 2 hours for wings wasnt enough Pizza was good, the wings are a good size. We came in with a group of 20 people so I knew they were gonna be busy and a longer wait time for our orders. Everyone got there subs and pizzas within 30mins. So now every one is done eating and it's 2 hours later and my son and I are still waiting on our wings in the lobby.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and it will also be my last. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and a cinnamon pizza. The pepperoni pizza was severely overcooked with a blackened crust, and the cinnamon pizza was messy and unappetizing. I only ate one slice of each; the rest will be given to my dogs.
