Il Fornaio Del Mar

I had a guest with me from the Bay Area. We had a very pleasant luncheon with ocean view, good food good service.

As always, enjoyed my evening here. Food and atmosphere was excellent. We were celebrating my son’s 18th birthday and they helped make it special.

Food was amazing and the view was beautiful but the service was disappointing. The host was was lovely. We were there to celebrate my fiancés birthday. We saw our server when he took our drink order and our food order. I had to ask the bus boy for a steak knife. We sat with empty drinks for 20 minutes and an empty plate in front of us for another 15 before the server came to offer dessert. We just asked for the bill and waited for him to come by after 10 minutes we stood up to try to have someone cash us out. The manager was standing by the register and I mentioned it to her and she was very apologetic. Because of her and the host we are willing to give it another try but the birthday celebration was ruined. If it was any other day I wouldn’t have been so upset about the service.

Took my husband there for his birthday. Service was amazing! Food was fabulous, and the chef actually brought our dinner plates to our table. Couldn't ask for a better dining experience.

First time in Del Mar and we didn’t regret selecting Il Fornaio from reviews. The server was super attentive and our pastas excellent as was the beet salad we split. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for our dinners. We’ll be back!
