En Fuego Cantina and Grill - DEL MAR

Food was sub par little to no flavor. Second time here and the time was much better. This may haven been an off night

Came for “Mexican Monday” which is a menu clearly laid out here and on their website. The waiter acted like he had zero idea what I was talking about. He went to go “ask around” about it and came back to say it was bar only. Later that night he came back and said he was slammed with big parties downstairs at the bar (clearly there for the specials). That left a really bad taste in my mouth to have him blatantly lie to us.

En Fuego is a Del Mar institution. Good food, great margs, nice vibe. Staff super nice and what’s not to love about Mexican food!

Sat for 20 minutes without anyone coming over. When service finally arrived, we ordered drinks and all of our food. Waited 20 minutes for the drinks to come out and another 25 minutes for our food. Fajitas were worm at best and the salads were warm as well. The manager gave us a choice, take 20% off the bill or we could leave. We left. Never going back again.

Food bad service poor asked ahead for a nice seat, it was not busy plenty of seats… they sat us next to the entry way
