We ate other places, but this was our first time here. we celebrated the 27th birthday of my daughter. after entering the restaurant the front was unattended. we waited for a hostess and sat near our reservation time. sangria was on the spot. we ordered squash blossoms and burrata to begin both the chopped salat. the appetizers were delicious, as the single salat that was to end was great enough to share. Among the entrances are seafood linguine, bocatini, short rib pappardelle and margherita pizza. all escaped were delicious and the presentation was welcoming. When our food arrived, our waiter was not attentive and nowhere to find. it took so long, we had to ask another server to get him. this delay led us to pass on dessert, which was unfortunately, as we celebrated a birthday. during this visit the service fell short. We waited when we arrived and waited when we were finished.
We ordered the squash blossoms as an appetizer. Very good. a pizza and a pasta were both excellent. the desert with ice and pistachio cake was just so. overall a very good experience.
Dinner and the service was excellent. The only problem was the dessert. Had chocolate gelato and it tasted like frozen ice cream. Not very good.
I’m usually a huge cucina fan but this busy had staff problems. Not service issues like food delays, things that didn’t have to be with better trained staff. The hostess at the front may have been overwhelmed, but she was downright rude. She completely ignored me when it came to checking in (maybe she I was already checked in), but when I said “actually, I’m next” she huffed and said “well it doesn’t really matter” . Excuse me what? I don’t matter? She asked me for my name. I have it to her, and spelled it out since I have an unusual name. “What’s your first name”. I told her. She looked at the iPad. “What is it?” She asked again. I said my name again. Then I said my full name again. “What’s your first name”. I said it again. I knew she was looking at my name and denying that she thought it was me and should be a man with that name. She never asked me to spell it, which I would have. I said “that’s me, and said my name again”. “Oh, ok” she said. WTH, is this how to greet customers? The waiter was nice enough, but the check took eons, and the change for cash took even longer. Then he forgot to cork and bag my wine, since we only drank half of the bottle I bought. I realized I left with the wine when I exited the restaurant so I turned around and went back in and looked for it at the table. It was gone. Oh well. I’ve had better nights there.
