Excellent food, service is flaott and very friendly.
The Christmas market Deidesheim is one of the great Advent highlights in the Palatinate and attracts many (day) tourists. For example, despite the freezing cold, I let my friends entice to a weekend trip, although sugar-sweet mulled wine and unpleasant temperaments (including mustard spots on the new quilted jacket) do not belong to my desirable Christmas pleasures. Deidesheim lies picturesquely on the Deutsche Weinstraße and shines with a historic city centre. Just a 20-minute drive from Oggersheim, Deidesheimer Hof drove to Helmut Kohl's second living room. Manch should lead this to late pilgrimages – but rather not me. For an early lunch I would like to go east to the Deidesheimer Stuben, which is centrally located at the city square, just a few minutes walk from the train station, with the Stadthalle and the really magnificent Christmas market around the corner. In the summer this corner certainly spreads a Mediterranean flair, in winter you are more about the pleasant warmth in the rooms. The bright, friendly building of new years of construction radiates a pleasant local atmosphere. Personally, the rustic, but not boiling device liked me very well: pure white, warm red and thick wood panels dominate the ambience, while the wrought iron grids to separate the seating areas accommodate traditional covers but do not look old. Even with seasonal decoration, you are careful, nothing exaggerated. Very pleasant! At an early lunch on an Advent Saturday you are still surprisingly alone in the guest room. Probably the masses strip through the Christmas market. The female service is very friendly, cordial, open and facing. I find both the wine and the menu very nice. In the wines you can choose from the range of eight wineries around Deidesheim, the dishes are oriented towards regional and seasonal foods, where you are expected to see how sows or ochsen bakers are not missing, but also more surprising: During a further visit I would like to taste the redfish with goats and pine nuts or even cross the so-called "bread". My choice is on the beef tongue in Madeira sauce with noodles and salad, which is also offered as a small part. Fortunately, this place does not know the foreseeable term “senior plate”. Once the order is added here, the dishes are served so reliably (which will probably keep a little longer in the full house). As a greeting from the kitchen comes a bowl of Goseschmalz with bread. Very delicious, but would not have been necessary. The small part of the beef tongue (10.50 Euro) is completely sufficient: three surprisingly delicate discs of beef tongues bearing the fine aroma of Madeira; sufficient noodles that are more spaghettis than the announced wide noodles; a fresh and spicy dressed salad that perfectly harmonizes as a companion with the main dish. From the extensive wine list, I choose a fine late burgundy with melt from the Zimmermann winery to very reasonable 4 euros for the glass for this hearty dish. I didn't know where Ruppertsberg was, but I want to try more. I also find the well-maintained table culture, with reinforced ceilings, high-quality dishes, heavy cutlery and high-strength glasses, with colourfully revised napkins. Unfortunately, I didn't ask if you could stay in the house. But in the very interesting wine map the question is inevitable... fortunately not for me, because I drove today. I still want to come back because I have a little bit in this place...
