The Boedecker building, constructed in 1950 as a dormitory for male correction officers, was particularly fascinating. We discovered a variety of items, including many knives, necklaces, earrings, and more. The exhibits featuring trains and a horse showcased a glimpse into the past. There were also weights, kitchen items, saddles, and numerous toys. A piano and an organ were on display, along with a representation of a living room. It was intriguing to see how people lived in earlier times. This is definitely a place worth visiting!
Well worth the visit. Scary to think it was used until 1979. The car museum was also well worth the visit. One ticket got you into multiple museums
Well worth the trip out to Deere Lodge. It was really great, do all the museums in the area. Make sure you Stop by the prison made store. I'm glad we went out of the way to visit.this area of Montana.
Great tour and a ton of history, not to be missed when in deer lodge.
What a fantastic museum, and it's free! They have an impressive exhibition featuring miniature models of animal-drawn vehicles (like horse-drawn wagons), but the highlight for my wife and me was definitely the entire back section of the museum. It showcases local artifacts from the area, organized into model spaces representing that era. I can't recommend it highly enough!
