Louie's Montana Pastys - Deer Lodge

I wanted to give pasties a try, and this restaurant seemed like the perfect place. However, I don’t think pasties are really suited for summer since they’re quite heavy, filled with meat, potatoes, and rutabagas—definitely more appropriate for the dead of winter. That said, if I were in need of a hearty meal and didn’t mind indulging, this would definitely hit the spot!

A hidden gem in Deer Lodge! True passion is evident in every dish! The atmosphere is very local, with the community's elders gathering for their morning meetings around a long table. The love and care from the family are palpable. Everything we had was fresh and delicious—exactly what we hoped for! Make sure to eat here!

This place has an eclectic vibe, but it serves some of the best meat pasties in the state. There’s a strong sense of community, and everyone is very friendly. The apple dessert is fantastic, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable!

These are the best donuts I've ever tasted. The service was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. I can't wait to go back!
