A&W Restaurant - Deer Lake

I visited this restaurant twice while on vacation. Both times, the service was slow and the prices were high. Today, I only ordered an ice cream cone which cost $3.50 for a regular size. When I received it, I was surprised by the price. The serving size seemed smaller than I expected. Additionally, the soft serve ice cream they use, made from island milk, was overly sweet and had a strange texture. It seemed like there was more ice cream than cream in it. I would suggest avoiding it if you prefer a creamier texture.

When I received it, I was surprised by the small size and the overly sweet and coarse texture of the soft serve mix from Island Dairy. I suspect that regardless of whether I ordered a small or regular cone, the size would have been the same. The texture suggests it has more ice milk than cream, so I would recommend avoiding it.

The restaurant has quick access off the highway. It has a drive thru and a eatin area typical of most fast food joints. The only disappointment was that the onion rings were "not available" . Burgers were good. Make sure you have the root beer for which A
