Golden Dragon Restaurant - Deep River

I always enjoy the food here, been coming for years. Much better than any Chinese I've had in Ottawa. Family run operation and a real local institution. Always happy to support a hardworking family.

Every small town seems to have a Chinese restaurant and Deep River is no different. They almost all have the same Americanized menu and Golden Dragon is no different. Though there is a few relatively unique dishes here, they seem no less authentic. That all being said, a lot of these places also seem to phone it in, given they do not have much in terms of competition. Here we have solid dishes that will be familiar, but are longstanding menu features for a reason. They are executed well and there was really no dish on our Dinner for Four that did not warrant a round of seconds. We had delivery, so I can't comment on the restaurant, but the food came on-time to the minute (we ordered ahead). Would order again.

Just your normal average everyday Chinese food place. No complaints. Good service, clean, good food.

The Golden Dragon has been good and not so good at times.Our latest take-out dinner was delicious. It included Spring Rolls (nicely crisp and no grease out of them,) Wonton Soup (very flavourful,) Chicken Fried Rice (fairly basic, but nice clean taste,) Shrimp with Broccoli

Another one of these converted house chinese restaurants that sell same average chinese food with mediocre service. Tried it twice and regretted it both times. The place needed upgrading and some creativity in the food department.
