Contribuiți la feedbackIt took a while but we have finally found a great thai restaurant to dine in and get home delivered nearby. After exhausting most in the Dee Why and surrounding areas we stumbled across Aom Jai and they haven't disappointed once. The massaman is my absolute fav, beef is always super tender and sauce rich and tasty. Chicken satays, curry puffs and chilli basil noodles are regularly ordered
My favourite pad Thai on the northern beaches they'll even do one with prawn and squid. Awesome serving size too, you could live on one for a week!
To compare restaurants, after visiting Amy@Lemon Thai, we went for dinner to the nearby Aom Jai. The name means at home. The welcome was such warmth that we felt ourselves at home. The little problem was that at home, we don't have to eat the stir-fry with the spoon, that we got for the soup, and don't have to ask for serviettes. After the drawbacks now the advantages. We were escorted outside to a little garden restaurant that was very welcoming with a lot of flowers, but this time of the year, on a rainy, windy evening, wasn't the best choice. We got a heater above us, turned on immediately, but the cold wind won over the heater. My Tom Kha Gai soup first was a bit strange with the wedges of tomato, but soon I learned to love it.My partner also liked his tom Yum soup. The main dish was Chilli Basil Chicken for me that I found very tasty, but not hot enough(for me). My partner Crying Tiger was all right, but less good than the one in the previous restaurant. The service was very fast and attentive, and the food was excellent.
Dropped in for dinner and found that this charming hole in the wall had a courtyard area for dining.Really lovely alfresco style. The food came out in a timely manner, and was fresh, Super tasty.I'm a huge fan of chilli and asked for extra fresh chilli to go with my som tum (green papaya salad).Food was plentiful, delicious and well presented. Will be back for more.
This place seems to have some potential and I have noticed Thai people eating here which usually means authentic tastes - however each time I have eaten here there has been a lack of spice. Some good authentic flavours - the green chilli was nice - good use of Thai herbs - but not that green chilli spice you expect. Larb was OK. The Prik Khing should be stir fry in red curry paste - it was non existent. I suspect the Thai customers may get a different version to westerners - please don't! There is a nice area out the back to sit. Nice people as well running the place and the kitchen looks very clean,
