The fact that we’re expected to tip people for spending our money with them is asinine. No service provided, especially not to any degree that would warrant a tip. These folks aren’t servers only making $2.35 an hour so if their wages are so awful that they need to coerce paying customers into tipping them then Comet Lanes is in the business of not paying people a livable wage. Not to mention our lane had multiple issues with pins resetting and ball return not working so we lost on 10-20% of the hour that we paid for. So eventually there’s 5 minutes left on our lane so we go to the counter asking if we might be able to add another 30 minutes. It was 10:20 and the place was open for 40 minutes, we were not asking them to stay open late or anything unreasonable. Turns out, they tell us that “the drawer is closed” but they’d be happy to add more time for us….if we tipped them. I’m not even kidding. They literally tried to leverage our ability to pay this business more money for a tip. So unprofessional. If they had just said the drawer was closed and left it at that then okay, we wouldn’t be upset (although it’s weird that they’re not willing to take more of our money and they TOLD us when we first paid that we could add more time later on). I don’t know if the business owners know what’s going on in their place here but your people are costing you money. I work in service. I work for tips. I NEVER leave reviews, but I’m leaving this one because you should take your money someplace else. Tipping people for retail transactions is ridiculous especially considering we’re all already paying more for everything due to inflation and on top of that to be expected to tip? For no service? Unreal.
If you're looking for a fun night out with friends or family, look no further than Comet Pub Lanes. Not only does it provide an entertaining atmosphere, but the service is outstanding, the facility is clean and well-maintained, and the bar and food options are top-notch. From the moment you enter the bowling alley, you're greeted by friendly staff who are eager to assist you with your bowling needs. They go out of their way to ensure that your experience is enjoyable and stress-free, whether it's helping you choose the right ball size or providing tips on how to improve your game. Speaking of the lanes, they are spotless, and the equipment is well-maintained. The pins are set up accurately and efficiently, and the scoring system is easy to use. The overall cleanliness of the bowling alley is impressive, making for a comfortable and inviting environment. The bar area is another standout feature of this establishment. The bar staff is knowledgeable about their drinks, and the drinks themselves are delicious. Whether you're in the mood for a cold beer or a refreshing cocktail the bar has you covered. The food options are also excellent, with a great selection of standard bar fare that is sure to satisfy your hunger. Although it’s not necessarily an elevated menu, it is far better than what you would find at most bowling alleys. In summary, this local bowling alley is an excellent spot to spend an evening with friends or family. The service is top-notch, the facility is clean and well-maintained, and the bar and food options are satisfying. Whether you're an experienced bowler or a newbie, this place is sure to provide a fun and memorable experience for all.
My best friend and I go here every Monday for half off price. The service is amazing. The food comes out fast but it is mediocre because it’s a bowling alley. We play 3 to 4 games every time and it’s just such a fun activity for a Monday! There’s an arcade, bar, and they even do trivia on Mondays so anyone who doesn’t want a bowl or gets a little bored can hop in on playing trivia to win house cash !
BBQ pizza was good but my group and I were unable to play bowling. They said the wait was 45 minutes and after we waited, they said it would be another 45 minutes. After that, they said it would be 30 minutes. Very frustrating that they’re making up numbers and we waited for so long just for no bowling. There should be a better or at least more accurate system in place, but I will not likely be coming back. We got there early to take advantage of $2 Tuesdays, but was not worth it.
Zero respect for veterans yikes! Comet has always been our go to for local bowling for YEARS. This evening I asked my husband who served two tours in Iraq where he wanted to go for Veterans Day and he said Comet to bowl. Upon arrival I had asked if there were any specials for those who served. The front desk gentleman said no and I asked if he’d be so kind to ask a manager if there’s anything they’d be willing to for such a special day for those who served to afford these folks the freedom to own a business and work where they would like thanks to their freedom. The young man came back and said the manager wasn’t willing to do anything and sorry. Honestly, that’s so super sad and pathetic. We spend THOUSANDS of dollars here per year and you can’t even offer a 10% discount, free beer, anything for our vets?! Shame on you. Would love to have a conversation with the owner on how they can honor our military and better support their community as the people and “policies” they have in place only benefit one entity… sad and insanely disappointed.
