We ate our first meal in Debrecen at this restaurant. I ordered a pork chop for the whole plate and a duck for my wife. Beautiful restaurant in the centre of Debrecen serves traditional Hungarian cuisine with a bit of a local twist. It is located in a cellar that gives it a beautiful mood. While the staff had problems with English (and, I take other languages except Hungarian) the menu has translated everything into English, so it is very easy to bypass the language barrier and order your meal. Service was tops, quite fast, although they seemed to take many orders simultaneously. Place seems to be very popular with locals so you want to make a reservation for the evenings or for larger groups. The food is excellent, I had many Hungarian dishes in different places and the taste of the bean soup still surprises me. Good beer on tap and a diversified beverage selection.
