Jt's Grill - De Soto

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the modern and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff greeted us immediately, seated us, and our waitress was ready to take our order in no time. While it wasn’t particularly busy, they seemed capable of handling a full house. We placed our orders right away, and our food arrived in about eight minutes—hot and beautifully presented. The waitress was attentive throughout our meal, and we found the food to be quite good and reasonably priced. We ordered the Cowboy burgers, which were cooked perfectly to medium rare. However, the onion rings were a disappointment—greasy, soggy, and rather mediocre. On the other hand, the standard fries were well done and enjoyable. JTs is a sports bar that represents the area nicely. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through or if you’re a local looking to grab a beer and a burger.

We stopped by the bar at 9:45 PM on May 25th for a drink. As soon as we took our seats, the bartender informed us that the kitchen was closed. We assured him that we were just looking for a drink. He then bluntly told us that they were about to close. According to the posted hours, the bar is supposed to be open from 11 AM to 2 AM on Fridays. I understand that if business is slow, bars may close earlier, and it was indeed quiet, but there were still a few other customers at the bar. Because of this attitude, the bartender lost out on two potential customers and ended up with a tip of just 30 cents, which is what he earned.

I was referred to this restaurant but ended up feeling disappointed. My sandwich, which was supposed to come with beef and au jus, was lukewarm and leaked all over the bottom of the bag. I also ordered onion rings, but they were thrown in the same container as a pickle, leaving everything soggy and tasting like pickle. The beef had an off taste, and after just two bites, I decided it wasn't worth the risk of getting sick. I don’t feel inclined to return to this place; it was a waste of my $18.

JT's food is a small town gem. The owner and his wife care about the service, the food and the people. If you ever had bad service from here, they are aware and handle it promptly. The food is small town fantastic. My kids love the wing of the month! The chicken fried steak/chicken is awesome and the green beans are like grandma cooked them. I also love their chili.

We have been going to JT's every Tuesday evening for the taco special since May. We have never been disappointed. Staff is always friendly and the food is great.
