Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Dayton

I received an offer in the app for a $3.99 smoothie, and I decided to try the new Hurricane Smoothie, complete with a fun edible straw! Alongside that, I ordered the new Thai Chicken Crunch Island Flatbread and the jalapeño corn. The flatbread was exceptionally delicious, featuring a soft, chewy base topped with crunchy carrots and wontons, gooey cheese, and fresh scallions and cilantro. The Thai peanut sauce added a delightful tanginess, perfectly complemented by the grilled flavor of the chicken. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and took my first bite! The corn was both crisp and creamy, with just the right amount of heat from the jalapeños. I also loved the smoothie—I've yet to meet one I didn’t enjoy—right down to the last sweet crunch of the edible straw! I can’t wait to return to this little tropical escape!

We rated it 4 stars because the salad and shrimp were only at room temperature. Who enjoys warm shrimp? The chicken and bacon flatbread was quite good, though next time, I would order it without bacon since I prefer my bacon crispy, and this one was rather soft. However, the server by the window was delightful, and the smoothie was excellent. Overall, we're happy to have this place around and will definitely return!

In the area, every other tropical smoothie place tends to make the southwest breakfast wrap quite messy. It's always delicious, so I still order it frequently, but this one has a certain magic that keeps it from being messy. It also seems to have a bit more filling. The staff is always friendly, and I’ve never had an order mistake—great service overall!

This establishment is clearly understaffed, but considering the number of customers they had with only three women working on a Friday night, they performed remarkably well. All of them were incredibly polite, and the food and smoothies were outstanding as always. Given that the drive-through was completely backed up, and there was a line of people inside, the staff was able to serve my food and drinks in a reasonably timely manner. The three women working that evening were absolutely phenomenal. I just hope the staffing situation improves soon to prevent these dedicated workers from burning out. To the three ladies on duty at 7:30 PM on Friday, August 19—great job!

This is the only Tropical Smoothie I know of that has a drive-thru. The customer service is excellent, and the smoothies are fantastic. I just wish they offered a larger size option, as all the smoothies are around 24 oz.
