Carrabelle's - Dayton

I recently dined here for lunch and had a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding, earning a solid rating of 5 stars. I highly recommend trying the Onion Rings, Dragon Shrimp, Mac and Cheese, and the Side Salad—they were all delicious! The service was also commendable, rating a 4, with attentive staff who made my visit enjoyable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and vibrant, which is why I rated it a perfect 5. As for parking, there was plenty of space available with a convenient free parking lot nearby. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a satisfying lunch. The price range for a meal is reasonable, falling between $10 and $20 per person.

After waiting 20 minutes to be seated, we approached the hostess stand only to discover that two other parties had been seated before us. We finally got our table at 7 p.m., but our food didn’t arrive until 8. I had requested my pulled pork potato without barbecue sauce, but it came smothered in it, despite the waitress's assurance that it wouldn't. I also ordered the grilled chicken Alfredo, and after another 20 minutes, we received a dish that tasted like canned chicken and had the dullest sauce I have ever encountered. The grilled salmon and Brussels sprouts were burnt and overcooked. Although the waitress did apologize for the long wait, I’ve never experienced such poor service before. I usually don’t like to leave bad reviews, but I cannot recommend Carrabelle's.

The prices at this restaurant are outrageous. The menu lists one price, but when the bill arrives, everything costs $2 more than expected. We also discovered that some items we thought were included in our meals came with additional charges we were not informed about. The food was generally subpar, with the exception of the salmon, which was decent. The drinks from the bar were good, but aside from that, I was not impressed. To make matters worse, they ran out of mushrooms and didn't let me know, which meant my beef stroganoff was missing a key ingredient. They also didn't have any steamed vegetables available.

We visited this restaurant while we were in the area. I tried the shrimp and crab mac and cheese, while my husband had the jambalaya seafood pasta with shrimp. We both loved our meals and would definitely return when we are in the neighborhood again.
