French staff and cook, but hollandaise sauce from a bottle for shame. the waitress had no idea of the ones we have asked and the orders repeatedly forgotten, have to ask again and again.
Had dinner and breakfast there. Wish we hadn’t. It’s obviously not cooked to order as mine was cold. They had to take it away and redo. Tasted of raw spices, not cooked properly. Pizzas came out in 5 mins. Atmosphere terrible. like a cafeteria....We had to use the breakfast room.
After a tough two years of Covid we are really supportive of regional hospitality venues. We can understand that there are challenges. But this cafe/pizzeria/restaurant doesn’t actually even know what it is. In the evening it is not a cafe, it is not a pizzeria...for 4 lane pizzas on the menu and as a restaurant it is a failure. The ambience on entry says it all. Bad decor, bad table placement, bad lighting. There is a reason it was empty on a busy Easter night. The menu is limited and lacks any imagination or finesse. The food was passable with some dishes better than others. Particular stand outs for being awful was the battered calamari and the chicken breast and the steak. The drinks were good and the service was good with a hard working maître’d. But nothing can save this place and it’s a crying shame given the hospitality pedigree of the owners and the prime location. Don’t eat here. Don’t waste your time or money, it’s not cheap either. I should have stayed at our rental and had a BBQ, the food would have been superior and the ambience way better.
For a basic chicken breast served with salad, $29. They have a good menu but could expand on it. Three of us sat outside and the wasps were really annoying so we moved inside. The waiters were excellent. Outside co7ld use some citronella candles to...keep the wasps away. Toilets are so tiny and badly need updating.
